R-Rated Movie Admission Policy
R-rated films may contain adult themes, strong language, violence, sexual content, drug use, or other material that may not be appropriate for younger viewers.
Guests age 17 and older may purchase tickets to and attend R-rated movies without parental permission. Photo identification may be requested to verify age.
Guests under age 17 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian age 21 or older to attend an R-rated movie.
Permission may be provided in one of the following ways:
- A parent or legal guardian accompanies the minor to the theater and provides permission to Ritz Theater staff.
- A parent or legal guardian provides written permission.
- Ritz Theater staff speaks directly with a parent or legal guardian by phone to confirm permission.
The parent or legal guardian is not required to remain at the theater for the movie unless otherwise stated for a particular film or showing.
Parental or guardian permission does not guarantee admission. The Ritz Theater reserves the right to establish additional age restrictions or admission requirements for individual films based on their content and to deny admission at management's discretion.
This policy and admission requirements are subject to change. Any additional restrictions for a particular movie or showing may be posted at the theater, on our website, or with the movie's showtime information.
Purchasing a ticket online does not waive the Ritz Theater's R-rated admission policy. Age or parental/guardian permission may still be verified when entering the theater.
